NatAlia – Line Dance Instructor, Choreographer & Community Builder (Basque Country, Spain)

My name is NatAlia, and I am a line dance instructor, choreographer, and promoter based in the Basque Country, Spain. I have been dancing line dance since 2015. For many years, I learned independently through online training, workshops, and events, as there were very limited opportunities to learn and practice line dance in my area. Over time, I realized that the main challenge was not a lack of interest, but a limited understanding of the diversity and richness of country and line dance. Many people only know a small part of this world. In 2024, I launched Basque Country Line Dancers (BCLD) with two main goals: • To build a strong line dance community in Vitoria-Gasteiz and throughout the Basque Country. • To give visibility to line dance in our region and show that an active and growing community exists in northern Spain. I am particularly committed to promoting all styles of line dance, including Catalan Style, while also sharing Basque culture and traditions through dance. Today, BCLD has become an active community that organizes regular classes, social dance events, festival trips, and collaborations with dancers from different regions. I strongly believe that line dance is more than a hobby: it is a way to connect people, create friendships, and build communities. Although much has been achieved, the journey continues. My goal remains the same: to keep growing the line dance community in the Basque Country and inspire more people to discover this wonderful world.
