I find this works easier than each partner trying to find the others hand.
LADIES reach out as if you are going to shake hands with the next dancer. Let the man find your hand in this position.
MEN Reach for the lady's hand with your 4 fingers joined together opposed by thumb. David Bagget called this PAC-MAN. I use it as a little laugh getter. Taking the lady's hand in this manner lets you lead her on to the next partner or on the final sequence, turn her into position.
