Pink Champagne

Count: 32Wall: 4Level: intermediate
Choreographer: Adie DaviesUS
Music:Pink Champagne by Carrie Underwood

Step Sheet

Counting notes: All counts marked “a” (e.g., 2-a-3, 6-a-7) are danced with a swing feel – not straight. Think of the rhythm as triplet-based: “long-short-long” or “doo-ba-doo”, like in jazz timing. The movement should feel groovy and syncopated, not evenly spaced.

3 –

4 –
Brush R foot lightly to the side (no weight)
5 –

6 –

7-8 –

Section 2
[9 – 16] CROSS R, L CHASSE (swing), RECOVER, CROSS L, R CHASSE (swing), TOUCH
1 –
Cross step R over L
2-a-3 –
Side chasse L-R-L to the left with a swing/triplet rhythm*
4 –
Recover weight on R foot
5 –
Cross step L over R
6-a-7 –
Side shuffle R-L-R to the right with a swing/triplet rhythm
8 –
L toe touch behind R foot (weight stays on R)
Counting notes: let’s break down what you’d do with the left chasse (“step-together-step”)
● Beginning section 2, step right over left (1)
● Step left foot to the side (2), bring right next to left quick (a)
● Step left (3), recover weight to right again (4)
This would usually be counted straight as: “1 2 & 3 4” (with even eighth notes)
But for a swing feel, you want “1 2-a-3 4” (long, long-short-long long)
Triplet swing written another way: “doo-doo-ba-doo-doo”

Section 3
[17 – 24] ¼ TURN, ½ TURN, ½ SHUFFLE TURN (swing), ROCK, RECOVER, R COASTER (swing)
1 –
¼ turn left stepping L, facing 9:00
2 –
½ turn left stepping R, facing 3:00
3-a-4 –
Shuffle half turn L-R-L, end turn facing 9:00
5 –
Step R foot forward (rock)
6 –
Recover weight back onto L foot
a-7 –
Step R foot back (a), step L foot next to R (7)
8 –
Step R foot forward
Counting notes: this coaster step is danced with a swing rhythm (not even counts).
Usually, you might count this straight as “coas-ter-step” on “7-and-8”.
● For a swing feel, you want to count “a-7-8” or think “short-long-long” with your R-L-R steps. It’s almost like you’re hopping backwards into the coaster step move

Section 4
[25 – 32] OUT, FLICK R, OUT, FLICK L, SIDE, CROSS, UNWIND ½ TURN
1 –
Diagonal step L forward
2 –
Flick R foot up/behind, touching left hand
3 –
Side step out right
4 –
Flick L foot up/behind right, touching right hand
5 –
Side step left
6 –
Cross right over left
7-8 –
Unwind ½ turn left over two counts, face 3:00 to your new wall*
*Styling options/variations during last 2 counts of section 4
Variation 1: basic
7 –
Cross right over left and hold
8 –
Unwind ½ turn left quickly on count 8, end facing 3:00
● Cue: Prepare for the turn by holding the crossed position firmly on 7, then unwind smoothly but decisively on 8.

Variation 2: extra spin
7-8 –
Cross right over left and unwind into a 1 ½ turn spin over two counts, end facing 3:00
● Cue: Begin the unwind immediately after crossing on 7, using both counts for a controlled but flowing 1 ½ spin.
ENDING: The last ½ unwind turn on wall 11 would leave you facing the 3:00 wall. After the final chorus of the song, complete a ¾ turn to strike a pose facing 12:00 as the music fades :)
